My son was a magician at getting out of a wonderfully tight swaddle in ordinary blankets, as well as other blankets that claimed to be made just for swaddling. In some children this would not be a problem, in my case however my son NEEDED to be swaddled morning, noon, and night. He could not sleep or eat without being swaddled, and anybody who has ever cared for a newborn knows that all they do is eat and sleep. He was his own worst enemy, he would wiggle his arms free and then bop himself in the nose, and then he would be wide awake.
